The quality of this chopper is up to Silky's high level, and I have no complaints about that. The sheath is a little awkward to use, with a long strip of velcro requiring two hands to open, so it's not easy to get it off your belt. The price is a little high for what it is, but unless you lose it, this tool will probably last many many years so that should be factored in.

This is the best tool I have ever used. I search for section markers on 4200 acres. I have cut hundreds of 1 and 2 inch saplings and have never had the handle come off. I seldom have to sharpen it. Has great steel. Only just touch it up ,,,, never put a stone on it. The hook cuts through briars like butter. Had it for approx 2 yrs and all I can say is that it is unbelievable. Get one,, I promise you will love it !!!!!

the blade is fine - the tang runs the full length of the handle so no worries about it snapping like the gerber brush thinner. however, the rubber grip is a 2 piece that is not very securely attached to the blade and after a while it works loose. only held in place by sockets in the rubber that wrap onto projections on the blade. if you hit anything solid the handle will pop off, and it wont go back on correctly after that
